If you have a Pacifica that needs an oil change, a Pacifica Hybrid with a recall question, a 300 with a HEMI tick, or a Town and Country that needs front-end work, we have done that work in this shop.
Signs your Chrysler needs service
Most Chrysler owners only call a shop when something on the dash, under the hood, or under the van has changed. Here are the symptoms we see most often on the Pacifica, the 300, and the older Town and Country, and what each one usually means before we put the vehicle on the lift.
Service-interval light on the dash
Most common entry visit. The OEM scan tool reads which interval triggered the light: oil-life monitor, transmission service, brake fluid, or the general service reminder.
Pacifica 9HP transmission hesitation or harsh shift
Known soft spot on 2017 to 2019 Pacificas. Sometimes it is a software-side issue the dealer addresses, sometimes a fluid-and-filter service buys real time, and sometimes the symptom points at internal damage. We diagnose before we recommend.
Pacifica Hybrid charge fault or HV warning
Pacifica Hybrid PHEVs from 2017 and 2018 sit inside an open NHTSA fire-risk recall window. We confirm the recall status, document the fault, and route HV work to the Chrysler dealer where the recall fix is performed at no charge.
Brake squeal or pulsation through the pedal
Pad wear indicator, glazed rotors, or rotor warp from heat cycling. Pacifica brake setups carry heavier loads with seven passengers and groceries; OEM-grade replacement parts preserve the brake feel.
AC blowing warm or cycling oddly
Refrigerant low, compressor clutch failing, or the cabin filter is fully blocked. Pacificas with rear AC have a second evaporator that runs leaks more often than the front circuit. EPA Section 609 certification covers the recharge.
Check engine light with or without a drivability change
OBD-II scan reads the generic code; the Chrysler protocol layer reads the freeze-frame data that tells the actual story. On the Pentastar V6, the most common entries are misfire codes (rocker arm or cylinder head) and oil-cooler weep codes.
Electrical glitch on sliding doors, lighting, or windows
TIPM-style faults are a known Pacifica and older Town and Country pattern. Body control module faults, ground corrosion, or a weak battery can confuse the modules. The scan tool isolates the system before parts get thrown at it.
HEMI tick on a 300 or 300C
Classic 5.7L HEMI noise from the upper end. Sometimes lifter, sometimes exhaust manifold bolts, sometimes both. We diagnose the source before recommending a teardown.
Two or more at once, do not wait. Most Chrysler problems are easier and cheaper to address when caught early.
Chrysler service for Mays Landing and Atlantic County owners
Same family, same eight bays, same corner of Mays Landing since 1981. We serve Hamilton Township, Egg Harbor Township, Northfield, Somers Point, Folsom, Buena Vista, and the rest of Atlantic County. Most Chrysler owners we see drive a Pacifica or an older Town and Country in from those towns plus Vineland, Millville, Galloway, and the shore towns.
The nearest Chrysler dealers sit in Egg Harbor Township and Atlantic City, 15 to 25 minutes from Mays Landing. For routine work and most repairs, an independent shop is the difference between a same-day visit and a multi-day scheduling delay. The dealer keeps the work that needs the dealer: HV battery recall service on the Pacifica Hybrid, warranty service, active recalls, and factory software.
Helpful details to mention
- Vehicle year, model, and trim (Pacifica Limited, 300C, Voyager LX, etc.)
- Mileage
- Which dash light is on, or what the touchscreen is showing
- What changed and when (sound, feel, smell, performance)
- Most recent dealer or shop visit and what they did
- Whether the vehicle is still under factory or extended warranty
- For Pacifica Hybrid: whether the recall has already been performed
The more we know up front, the more accurate the estimate and the timeline.

01 of 05, The Pacifica
The Pacifica family is the Chrysler lineup now
Chrysler the brand has shrunk to the Pacifica family. The current showroom is the Pacifica (gas), the Pacifica Hybrid (PHEV), and the Voyager (a Pacifica rebadge built for fleet buyers and value shoppers). The 300 sedan ended production in 2023, the Town and Country was replaced by the Pacifica in 2017, and the 200 is long gone. We service all of these plus the older Sebring, Concorde, Cirrus, and PT Cruiser when they come in.

Why the lineup matters for service
Most working Chryslers on the road in South Jersey today are Pacificas. That means the service patterns we see most often are minivan patterns: sliding-door electrical, rear AC, family-hauler brake wear, and 9HP transmission service. We are set up for those.
Where the older cars fit
Older 300s and Town and Countrys still come through the shop regularly. The 5.7L HEMI in a 300C, the Pentastar V6 in a late Town and Country, and the platform parts shared with Dodge and Jeep all live in our daily work. If you own a 2010 to 2015 Chrysler that the dealer would rather not see, we do.
02 of 05, The Pacifica
The Pacifica Hybrid HV battery recall, and how we handle it
The 2017 and 2018 Pacifica Hybrid sits inside an open NHTSA recall for fire risk tied to the high-voltage battery. Chrysler addresses it through a combination of software updates and hardware fixes, and the recall fix is performed by the dealer at no charge to the owner. If you own one of these vans, the recall status is the first thing to check.

How to check your recall status
Enter your VIN at the NHTSA recall lookup site (nhtsa.gov) or call the nearest Chrysler dealer. If the recall is open, the dealer schedules the fix. If you would rather have us check it for you, bring the van in and we will pull the VIN, run the lookup, and document the result so you have it in writing.
What stays at Kneble's on a Pacifica Hybrid
Tires, brakes (regen-brake pads typically last longer because the motor does most of the slowing), suspension, cabin AC, 12V auxiliary battery, inverter coolant top-off, and the standard maintenance items. The HV battery itself, the HV charging interface, and any work that requires de-energizing the pack stay at the dealer.
Tell us what changed, when it started, and what you drive. We can help decide whether to start with an inspection, alignment check, or related repair.
03 of 05, The ZF
The ZF 9HP transmission service on Pacifica and Voyager
Every Pacifica and Voyager runs the ZF 9HP nine-speed automatic. It was a troubled transmission early in its life (the 2017 to 2019 model years carried the most hesitation, harsh-shift, and no-shift complaints), and Chrysler addressed many of those through software updates at the dealer. Owners still ask us about fluid service, and the answer is that ZF 9HP fluid spec is critical: substituting a generic ATF damages the transmission.

When 9HP service helps and when it does not
A fluid-and-filter service with the correct Mopar spec fluid often improves shift quality on a transmission that has been driven hard or run long past the factory interval. It does not fix an internal mechanical failure. We diagnose first, recommend the service if it is the right move, and tell you honestly when it will not help.
When the symptom points to the dealer
If the van is under warranty or extended powertrain coverage, transmission complaints go to the dealer. The dealer also has the factory software the transmission needs for the calibration side of any fix, and we route those to them so the warranty stays intact.
04 of 05, Pentastar V6
Pentastar V6 reliability patterns we see most often
The 3.6L Pentastar V6 runs in the Pacifica gas, the late Town and Country, the 300, and across the Stellantis lineup (Jeep, Dodge, Ram). The engine is durable overall, but a few wear patterns repeat enough to mention here.

Cylinder head and rocker arm issues
Earlier Pentastars (2011 to 2013 roughly) saw cylinder-head failures often tracked to rocker-arm wear and lifter problems. The symptom shows up as a misfire code and a top-end tick. The repair is well-understood and we have done it on Pacificas, Wranglers, and 300s.
Oil cooler weeps
The oil cooler at the valley sits where coolant and oil meet, and the gasket weeps with age. The symptom is a coolant or oil drip showing up in the same place after each drive. The fix is a known procedure with the right gasket kit.
Why this matters across brands
These same patterns show up on Jeep Grand Cherokee, Dodge Charger, and Ram 1500 Pentastars. If you own multiple Stellantis vehicles, you are likely to see the same repairs across them.
Tell us the year, make, model, and what you are noticing, and we will say what to check first.
05 of 05, How we
How we protect your Chrysler warranty
The federal Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act protects owners using independent shops for routine service: a manufacturer cannot void your warranty because an independent shop did your oil change or brake job. We document every Chrysler service per factory standards and refer warranty-eligible items back to the dealer so coverage stays intact.

What we keep on file for you
Printed and digital service records that match the format Chrysler expects. Parts receipts when we use aftermarket-spec parts. If the dealer ever pushes back on a warranty claim, those documents are how Magnuson-Moss protections actually work in practice.
What we will not touch
Active recalls (especially the Pacifica Hybrid HV battery recall) and anything warranty-eligible. We tell you directly which items are dealer-only and route you there. That is the deal.
Call the shop or request an appointment and include the vehicle year, make, model, mileage, and symptoms.
FAQs
Chrysler service FAQs
I am thinking about buying a used Pacifica. What should I check first?
Three things on a used Pacifica. First, the ZF 9HP transmission: ask for service records on the transmission fluid, and on a test drive listen for hesitation between shifts. Second, the Pentastar V6 oil cooler: pop the hood after a hot drive and look for coolant or oil weeping at the valley. Third, the sliding-door and TIPM-style electrical: cycle every power feature with the engine off and again with it running. A pre-purchase inspection at Kneble's covers all three plus the rest of the vehicle.
How do I check if my Pacifica Hybrid is inside the HV battery recall?
Enter your VIN at nhtsa.gov or call the nearest Chrysler dealer. If the recall is open, the dealer performs the fix at no charge. If you would rather have us check it for you, bring the van in and we will pull the VIN, run the lookup, and document the result. If the recall is still open we route you to the dealer; if it has been performed we keep the documentation on file for you.
How often should I service the ZF 9HP transmission in a Pacifica?
Chrysler treats the 9HP as a sealed unit on most model years, with no published interval for the average driver. We recommend a Mopar-spec fluid-and-filter service in the 60,000 to 80,000 mile range for most drivers, and earlier if the van is towing or pulling family-loaded weight regularly. The fluid spec is critical: generic ATF damages this transmission, so the spec-correct Mopar fluid is the only fluid we use.
What should I ask an independent shop before booking a Chrysler appointment?
Three things. First, do they have an OEM-level scan tool that reads Chrysler protocol (not just generic OBD-II). Second, will they put the diagnostic findings in writing before any repair starts. Third, what happens if they find a warranty-eligible or active-recall item during the visit (the right answer is they hand it off to the dealer with documentation, not that they try to fix it themselves).
Can you still service my older 300 or Town and Country?
Yes. The 300 and the older Town and Country are still daily work in this shop. We service the 5.7L HEMI on 300C trims (including HEMI tick diagnosis), the Pentastar V6, the suspension and brake systems, and the electrical patterns these cars are known for. The dealer no longer prioritizes older Chryslers; we do.
How does the typical Chrysler service bill compare at an independent vs the dealer?
The dealer-vs-independent spread is widest on routine items billed at hourly labor (oil and filter, brake fluid flush, transmission service, cabin filter) where dealer hourly rates carry a markup. The spread narrows on parts-heavy jobs and disappears entirely on warranty or active-recall service where the dealer is billing Chrysler, not you. Use the dealer for those; use us for the rest.
How do I reset the Chrysler oil-life monitor?
On most Pacificas the reset runs through the touchscreen menu, and on older 300s and Town and Countrys it runs through the ignition cycle on the gas pedal. The reset is straightforward, but resetting the monitor without performing the oil service that triggered it is not the right move. Bring the vehicle in and we will perform the service and reset the monitor at the end.
Where do most South Jersey Chrysler owners drive in from?
Most appointments come from the Mays Landing, Hamilton Township, and Egg Harbor Township triangle plus the Atlantic City Expressway feeder towns. Owners regularly drive in from Vineland and Millville to the west, Cape May Court House and the shore towns to the south, and Galloway and Absecon to the north. The EHT and AC dealers are 15 to 25 minutes away, which makes us the closer choice for routine work for most of these owners.
