School is back in session and so is another one of our videos. Hi, I’m Nancy at Kneble’s Auto Service Center. Please watch out for our children when approaching a school bus. New Jersey State Law requires all motorists to stop for a school bus with flashing red lights. You must allow for 25 feet between you and the school bus that you’re stopping for with those flashing red lights.
Now, if you’re traveling on a two-lane highway or a multi-lane highway where the lanes are separated by lines on the road, you must stop for that flashing red light on the school bus. But if you’re on a multi-lane highway that is separated by a safety island or medium in the road, then you’re only required to slow down about 10 miles an hour.
Always proceed with caution when approaching school buses. Our children are precious, so please watch out for them and be careful when driving your school buses. Now, like our video with a thumbs up and share it to keep our children safe. Thank you for watching.
