How far can you travel with that fuel light on? Did you ever even try? Well, it happened to me when I wasn’t even trying and it became quite nerve-racking because that fuel light started flashing at me.
Hi, I’m Nancy at Kneble’s Auto Service Center. Now of course you know when the fuel like gauge is flashing, time’s running out, you need to find a gas station quick. Also, be aware that the fuel light illuminates when you first start the vehicle. That’s to tell you the bulb works, but then it goes out. Now every vehicle is different but on average you have about two gallons left in your tank when that fuel light comes on, so time is of the essence to get that fuel. If your fuel gauge light is flashing at you and your fuel tank is full, then you will need further diagnostics to determine the problem. Now it’s not recommended to keep your fuel tank low on fuel as debris can sit at the bottom of the tank and it can become sucked up in the fuel filter and fuel pump as it’s pulling that last bit of gas from your tank.
