Do you realize that the leading cause of death in children in this country are vehicle crashes, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety 2012? In addition, do you know approximately 70 to 90% of all car seats, booster seats, and seat belts are misused, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration?
Hi, I’m Nancy, at Kneble’s Auto Service Center. Now these statistics are alarming and they can be greatly reduced. Now, I recently attended an intense four day program of Safe Kids Worldwide, to become a certified child passenger safety technician, which I passed, I might add. Now a special thank you goes out to our instructors that were there. I know you’re watching, and thank you for all your help and guidance. You truly confirmed that I never put my child’s car seat in correctly 25 years ago, and that I had so much to learn about child passenger safety.
Therefore, I will be starting a series called Nancy’s guide to child safety. So, from one parent to another, let’s educate ourselves on the proper use of car seats, booster seats, and seat belts, and reduce those statistics, and save lives. Remember, you’re a role model to your child, so buckle up.
