Is your splash guard hanging from the bottom of your vehicle? Nancy explains what the splash guard does and why it is important to make sure it isn’t falling off your vehicle!
Transcript:
Have you ever accidentally drove over those parking stops, backed up only to find out somethings hanging under your vehicle. Hi, I’m Nancy at Kneble’s Auto Service Center. Chances are you have pulled off that splash guard. It is a rubber-metal or plastic mat that is attached to the underpart of the vehicle. The sole purpose is to protect the underside of the vehicle from any dirt, debris, stones, etcetera that can fly up into the engine or the wheels.
Some vehicles have a total of five splash guards, one behind each wheel, commonly known as the mudflap, and one attached to the front bumper of the car. They are there to prevent potential damage to the exterior of the vehicle and the one under the bumper, also, as I said, protects any dirt and debris that can get up into the engine and cause any possible damage.
Now, remember, if you happen to drive over those parking stops, shh. Don’t tell. Just give us a call, and let us check out the vehicle for you.
If you like what I had to say, thumbs up, share the information because chances are you’re not the only one that drove over the parking stop and is having a splash guard hanging under your car. And if there’s any comments or questions below, put it in the comments section.
Thank you for watching.
