Did you know that most people are able to renew their driver’s license online in New Jersey? Nancy explains the changes to your license renewals and the four types of people that still need to go in person.

Is it time for your driver’s license to be renewed?
“Grant, you need to do that.”
Does the renewal form state it must be done in person?
Hi, I’m Nancy at Kneble’s Auto Service Center.
Did you know that as of October 9th, you no longer need to wait in those long lines at designated motor vehicle centers to renew your driver’s license?
And you can now renew your driver’s license online up to seven months prior to the renewal date. But be aware, there are four reasons you will not be able to renew them online and you will have to go in person.
- Number one, your driver’s license expired beyond the approved extension period. So check out my video on the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission.
- Number two, the driver’s license you have is suspended.
- Number three, your driver’s license has a temporary visa restriction.
- Number four, your driver’s license as a CDL.
For those of you that do not have any of those four issues, enjoy not waiting in those long lines at motor vehicles, and renewing in the comfort of your home online.
