Do the reopenings of the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission Centers have you confused and frustrated? Nancy breaks down which centers will accommodate your needs for titles, inspections, licenses, and more!
If COVID-19 wasn’t bad enough already, try going to New Jersey Motor Vehicles and not being aware of all the changes they made.
Hi, I’m Nancy at Kneble’s Auto Service Center. You can end up waiting in the long lines, as customers have been seen camped out overnight just to get service the next day.
It has been seen that many people have waited nine to ten hours, only to be disappointed that when they finally got to the center inside, they couldn’t offer the service they were looking for.
Also, on July 10th, just released from New Jersey Motor Vehicles, an extension has been granted.
Anyone with a registration, a vehicle state inspection, temporary tags, a driver’s license and a non-drivers ID expiring between March 13th and May 30th, you now have been granted an extension until September 30th,
For those of you who expire between June 1st to August 31st, your extension is till the end of the year, December 31st.
Now, for those of you who are looking to renew your registration or obtain a new registration, or possibly even get a driver’s license, just to name a few of the things, then pay close attention, because not all Motor Vehicle Centers are conducting business as usual.
Out of the 39 centers across the state, only 16 centers are currently offering service for just registration, titles, salvage titles, and dealer titles.
The other 23 remaining centers are only offering issuing licenses, written test, and testing and permits.
For our area, Egg Harbor Township also referred to as Cardiff, is the center for just issuing licenses, written driving tests, road tests, and permits.
You have to go to the closest center, which is Washington Township to get registration and titles.
Along with your paperwork being current, make sure your New Jersey state inspection sticker is valid. We here at our shop, for a fee, offer a licensed emission repair technician to thoroughly inspect your vehicle while performing a state inspection at a comfortable and conducive time for you.
Check out other videos, such as preparing your vehicle for a state inspection to prevent the hassle from failing and having to only return and try again, or how about a video and what is needed when taking your child for a driver’s test?
Also, as always for your convenience, check out on our website a complete list of motor vehicle commission centers and their operations, because I strongly recommend you review this list before going out to a New Jersey Motor Vehicle Center to be disappointed.
