The most often repair we perform here regardless of make and model is?
You guessed it, brakes.
Hi, I’m Nancy at Kneble’s Auto Service Center.
Brakes are used every day when driving. It is a wear item in your vehicle, meaning the more you use them, the more worn down they become.
Whether you have disc brakes or drum brakes, at some point, you will need service.
Not always will you know when it’s time to replace them. Sometimes you may hear a grinding noise as you have worn the pad down to the metal.
Some vehicles have a brake sensor to alert you on the dash, “It’s time to have your brakes serviced.”
Now, these brake sensors are attached to the brake pads and are designed with a wire that once it meets the metal brake rotor, it alerts you on the dash that your brake pads are at the minimal level and service is needed.
For example, BMW, Audi, and Mercedes, they have this feature.
So listen to the noises your vehicle makes and the next time you hear a squeak, “Eee”, while braking, have your technician do a brake evaluation and make sure you stay safe in your vehicle.
