How do you know when it’s time to replace your muffler?
Are you the loudest vehicle on the block? And, you can no longer sneak home without the whole neighborhood knowing it’s your vehicle coming down the street.
We have one of those in our neighborhood.
Hi, I’m Nancy at Kneble’s Auto Service Center.
Don’t be that annoying neighbor that everyone loves to hate, all because you have a loud vehicle. To help you identify your muffler needs replacing, here are five signs.

Now, the job of the muffler is to decrease or muffle the noise from the exhaust. Yes, you heard me, I said decrease not increase.
This is not The Fast and Furious. Your mufflers should not roar or be extremely loud. That is usually the first and the biggest sign of them all.
Additionally, your muffler directs fumes out of the vehicle, so you should not smell gas fumes inside the vehicle.
Another big sign your muffler needs to be placed is simply, look at it. Is it rusty, barely hanging on to the vehicle? Those, they’re dead giveaways that the muffler needs replacing.

Have you seen condensation dripping from the tailpipe? That’s not a great sign either, because this moisture causes rust and the whole, I just mentioned.
