Just like your computer or cell phone, your vehicle receives software updates. Nancy breaks down how your vehicle stays ahead of the curve in terms of updates!
Transcript:
Who would have ever thought that the computers in your vehicle need updating? There are many computers in your vehicle that operate different systems, and just like your laptop, smartphone, tablet, or desktop, the computers require software updates to help them operate better.
Hi, I’m Nancy at Kneble’s Auto Service Center.
Now I’m sure you’re asking yourself, “How would I know this, and who’s responsible for paying for these updates?”
Now, most manufacturers don’t inform the customer that an update is required unless it’s part of a recall, or if the manufacturer has proof of a problem that could lead to possible lawsuits.
Tesla, on the other hand, is one of few manufacturers who will notify their customer directly of the update, and the customer can do the update through wireless service.
Many auto technicians have the technology to download the update directly to your vehicle’s PC for a fee. Your auto technician can check bulletins and possible updates available for your specific vehicle.
Thank you for watching, and check out our other videos every Wednesday at 12:30, with such subjects as: why there’s a shake in your vehicle, or using air conditioning versus opening your windows. But today I’ve been turning on the AC.
Thank you again for watching.
