Nancy Kneble: How prepared are you when you go traveling? Because you never know what’s going to happen.
Hi, I’m Nancy at Kneble’s Auto Service Center. And, as a responsible adult that I am, in my car, I keep some essential items. First, and foremost, I have a first-aid kit. In my first-aid kit, I may have some antiseptic, some burn cream, some band-aids. What I do recommend you do with your first-aid kit is periodically check it because the items have an expiration date. Oops, you don’t want that. That one’s expired.
Also, I keep a change of clothes in my car, a towel, a blanket, and water, because you never know when you may need these items. The other thing I keep in my car is a flashlight. It also has a beacon on it. Flashlight with a beacon. The other part of this tool that you may not recognize is that it has a seatbelt cutter and an item to smash the glass if you need to.
Now, the reason for my preparedness is, once again, I’m that responsible adult, but that reminds me of an incident that happened to have happened when I needed my items. We happened to be traveling with the family and my son…
Grant Kneble: I cut my leg open.
Nancy Kneble: He sure did. Because what were you doing, Grant? You decided to…
Grant Kneble: … jump over a rusty pole that I thought I could do.
Nancy Kneble: When you were a little boy. Let’s just emphasize that. You were a little boy when you were doing that. And, of course, Mom said, “you’re going to cut yourself,” and you did.
My first-aid kit came in handy, but what else did we have to do, Grant?
Grant Kneble: Tetanus shot.
Nancy Kneble: That’s right. We had to go for a tetanus shot. So remember you never know when there’s an emergency. Be ready for it.
