Why is your steering wheel or your seat vibrating? Do you feel it the faster you accelerate and it’s just driving you bananas? Nancy explains what could be causing that horrible vibration.
Transcript:
Have you noticed while driving you suddenly start feeling a shake in the steering wheel or in the seat? You think to yourself, “What’s causing that shake? What’s the matter with my vehicle?” Hi, I’m Nancy at Kneble’s Auto Service Center. Quite possibly, more often the shake in the steering wheel or in the seat is from poor tire tread. Tires with worn tire tread or cupping of tires are from bad shocks or struts, or even a shift in the bend of the tire. That can cause shaking in the steering wheel or the seat.
Since tires are between you and the road, it’s important to maintain good tire tread. Your tires help provide that smooth comfortable ride you expect from your vehicle. Tire tread should not be less than 4/32 which could be measured with the tool, simply, of a penny. Put the penny upside down in between that tread and the top of Lincoln’s head should be covered. Anything more showing on Lincoln is in a sign of saying, “You need new tires.”
