Nancy explains how Hybrid Brakes Systems work and why they need to be inspected!
Transcript:
How many of you have a hybrid vehicle? For those of you that do, thumbs up. Pat yourself on the back because you’re being good to our environment. Hi, I’m Nancy at Kneble’s Auto Service Center. Did you know in those hybrid vehicles, in addition to the traditional braking system, you have what’s called regenerative braking system? That means when you apply your brake, that electric modem goes in reverse, you capture the energy, and it charges your battery. And this braking system is used frequently when you’re stopping and going.
Now when you need more braking power, that’s when the traditional braking system is implemented. Now, since you’re using their regenerative braking system more frequently, we are commonly seeing that the calibers are seizing up. The rotors are rusty, and the brake pads are delaminating. Therefore, it is recommended for you to see your car care specialist because what’s happening is the calibers, rotors, and pads are being replaced before they even actually show wear. Now, if you like what I had to say press the like button. Share the information with all those other hybrid owners. Also, check out our other videos. Remember, put a comment or question, I’ll answer it for you. Thank you for watching.
