I like to share with you a common question I often get asked. What are some typical repairs I can expect over time with my vehicle? Hi, I’m Nancy at Kneble’s Auto Service Center. I would say maintenance. It is a major component of keeping your vehicle for a long period of time. It is not uncommon for us to see vehicles reaching 300,000 miles. Vehicles are built better today with computers, so maintenance service from those vehicles include oil changes, tire rotation, spark plug replacement, fluid changes like your coolant and your transmission fluid, along with having your air and cabin filters checked periodically to see if they need replacement. It is extremely important to keep up with the manufactured recommended services, so your vehicle won’t let you down.
Besides the services, other common repairs you may need is having your battery replaced. Depending on the age of the battery as batteries last on an average of five years. Over time you may notice your exhaust system may sound loud. It may need to be placing as they rot away or sometimes they get loose from the brackets. Potholes, they can wreak havoc on the alignment. So if you notice your vehicle drifting when you let go of the steering wheel, then have your alignment checked.
But the most common repair we see is replacing brakes. Depending on the use of your vehicle as to whether you are driving locally with a lot of stopping or highway driving with less stopping determines the frequency of needing brakes replaced. Keep up with your services to minimize your repairs.
