Are your tires noisy? Do you hear them while riding in your vehicle?
Hi, I’m Nancy at Kneble’s Auto Service Center.
Did you know there’s an option for noise-reducing tires?
With luxury electrical vehicles on the market, so is the need for tires to be less noisy.
Consumers are more demanding as vehicle designs are more refined. The tire manufacturers, they’re constantly developing new technology with the ever-changing auto industry.
Several manufacturers have implemented the use of foam as a noise-absorbing component. This helps reduce the noise in the vehicle’s cabin.
There’re multiple variations of this technology. During the manufacturing of tire, the final step is the production where foam is added.
Depending on the manufacturer, whether the foam is attached to the inner lining with one piece, or in different size and shape pieces.
If your vehicle was initially designed with these noise-reducing tires, such as a Tesla vehicle, we recommend replacing them with the same design tire to maintain the integrity of a quiet ride.
Depending on the manufacturer, different terminology is used.
- Bridgestone, they identify their tires with be silent.
- Continental, they say they’re Conti-silent.
- Dunlap says noise shield.
- Goodyear, they say sound comfort.
- Hankook, they say sounds absorber.
- Michelin’s, they’re acoustic technology
- Pirelli is Pirelli noise canceling system, or PNCS for short.
So next time you’re in the market for tires, consider your options.
