Are you that embarrassing car when pulling to a stop? Everyone’s staring at you because of that ear-piercing nails on a chalkboard sound. Hi, I’m Nancy at Kneble’s Auto Service Center. The braking systems are an extremely important component in your vehicle. It can be the difference between avoiding an accident or being in one. We here at Kneble’s Auto Service Center will perform a complimentary brake evaluation if you notice any issue with your brakes.
Now with this service, we will remove your tires in order to examine the condition of the brake pads or shoes, and the brake drums or the rotors depending on the design of your vehicle. Now, understand that new brake pads measure about 10 to 12 millimeters, so if we find your brake pads measure three millimeters in thickness, then we’re going to recommend replacing them. Don’t forget you have brakes in the front and in the rear of your vehicle. Other components of the braking systems evaluated are the caliber, the hoses and wheel speed sensor, and the hardware kits, which all should be assessed for the condition and the function.
Thank you for watching and be sure to check out new videos every Wednesday at 12:30. And don’t forget, we are still offering a free oil change for all healthcare workers and first responders through the end of May. For your convenience, schedule your next appointment online or through our website. By phoning (609) 625-3286, you can also get us. Thank you.
Brake Inspection
Not sure how much life is left on your brakes? Bring your car in for a free brake inspection and we will let you know the status.
Air Conditioning (AC) Check Up
It’s best to have your AC system checked before a heatwave comes so you don’t have any surprises when you need to cool your car down.
Scan Computer System for Codes
Is your “check engine” light on in your dashboard? That is usually a sign that one of your sensors is giving a reading that indicates there is something wrong with your car. Many shops charge to check your computer system to see what codes have been set, but not us. If you need to find out what is going on with your car, give us a call to make an appointment to bring the car in so we can check for trouble codes.
Air Pressure in Tires
Having the proper time pressure is crucial for optimal wear and performance of your tires. Low tire pressure can also be a sign of a slow leak that needs to be fixed. If you need to have a professional check the air in your tires, just stop by and we will check it for you.
Check Air Filter
Having a clogged air filter can reduce gas mileage and in extreme cases, can impact your engine’s performance or cause the computer system to set a trouble code.
Check Cabin Air Filter
Your cabin air filter helps to keep the air that you breathe inside the car clean by filtering air pollutants. It is important to have this filter checked periodically and replaced if it is clogged. Please note that in some vehicles where there is significant labor involved in accessing the cabin filter, we will need to asses a small charge. If your vehicle is in this category, we will let you know before we perform this service.
Check Belts & Hoses
Having a drive belt or radiator hose fail can leave you stranded on the side of the road, so it is important to make sure they are in good condition.
Test Coolant
Having the proper coolant mixture can help keep your car from overheating in the summer and keep the engine components from freezing in the winter.
Check Exhaust System
Does your exhaust system seem louder than normal? Have us inspect your exhaust system for leaks. Did you know that having a leak in your exhaust system can cause health issues if the exhaust fumes are leaking into the passenger compartment? That’s right! Your exhaust system is designed to pass all of the toxic exhaust gases through a closed system that enters from the back of the vehicle. If you have any concerns about exhaust leaks, please contact us to schedule your complimentary exhaust system inspection.
Trip Check
Ready for that road trip? Well if you want to increase your likelihood of getting your destination without a breakdown, we encourage you to schedule a pre-trip vehicle check.
Battery Test
Did you know that you can test the condition of your car’s battery to find out if it is showing signs of failure? It is always better to know the condition of your battery in advance, especially as it approached the winter season which puts a higher strain on the battery. This way you have less likelihood of being surprised (and inconvenienced) by a dead battery.
Alignment Check
Does your car feel like it is drifting to one side of the road when you are driving? Do any of your tires show signs of uneven wear? These could be signs that your vehicle’s wheel alignment is off and needs to be corrected. Contact us to schedule a complimentary alignment check.
Tire Condition
If you have any concerns about the wear patterns on your tires, please contact us to make an appointment to bring the car in so one of our team members can inspect your tires.
Child Car Seat Inspection
We employ certified child passenger safety technicians who can verify the proper installation of your child’s safety seat.
